What is one thing you can't travel without?

My pictures. Of course we all have phones with all our pictures but there’s something very special about holding that little book of all me favorite friends and family photos.

Favorite Food

Seafood in general, but on the islands definitely Waiahole poi factory Laukau!!

Where is your current assignment and what are some of your favorite places you've been to during this assignment? If you are currently taking a break from traveling, what city was your favorite assignment was in, along with top sites to see?

Currently on the Big Island and return to Oahu next week for my next assignment. Being able to watch the volcano in an active state from Crater Ridge was probably my favorite big island adventure. My favorite place to be is definitely Oahu. Haleiwa being my favorite city. I completed several assignments on Oahu so I have so many things I love there, open water shark dives in Haleiwa, the Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden Mountain View In Kaneohe are my go to places for a great day. I have completed assignments on Maui, Oahu, Kauai and Big Island and every island has amazing beautiful beaches and unique things to do!

What do you love most about working with TotalMed and/or your recruiter?

I have been working with Carley for at least the past three years and would absolutely not want to change. Her professionalism was the initial reason for my choice in recruiter but I quickly realized that she is completely in tune to my needs and desires as a traveler and is dedicated to making them a reality. I know that I will always get a quick honest response from her, and it certainly helps that’s she is just genuinely a great person.

Why did you decide to go into travel healthcare?

It had been a dream of mine since the start of my nursing career 25 years ago, so I raised my children and when they all graduated and established wonderful life’s for themselves I made it a reality.

What is your top tip for fellow travelers?

Make travel nursing about the adventure. We of course all have to earn a living but it’s not really living if you don’t enjoy the experiences and beauty around you.
